Tasmanian Scent is being trialled at Launceston Airport

“When I think of Tassie... I think of fresh air. When you get off the plane the first thing you smell is the fresh air. It’s unique to Tasmania, the freshness is so Tassie.”
- Interview participant, 2018

There are Tasmanian stories you can read, see, and hear. You can touch and taste Tasmanian products. But in Brand Tasmania’s interviews with Tasmanians, they often spoke of that first blast of fresh air when you land at one of our airports, and the uniquely Tasmanian aromas it carries. It’s the first sensory impression of this place for newcomers, or the sensation that says “welcome home” for those returning.

The Tasmanian Scent is designed to capture this feeling – a way to bring the outside in, expertly crafted by local perfumer Craig Andrade of The Raconteur for Brand Tasmania.

Whether this is your first time to Tasmania, you’re a seasoned visitor, or you’re returning home, we hope the special feeling you experienced outside has followed you here into the airport, and stays with you forever.
