Parking & Facilities Maps

ATM

Automatic teller machines (ATMs) located throughout Launceston Airport’s terminals, both before security screening. Please refer to our terminal map to find the most convenient ATM.

Baggage Storage­

Baggage Lockers are available a convenient distance from the check-in hall for storage of luggage up to nine (9) days. Simply secure your bag/s inside a locker and make payment by notes, coin or credit card. You’ll then be issued with a ticket containing a one-off PIN code that you use to retrieve your bag/s from the locker.

Locker sizes and fees:

  • Small locker (420mm H x 900mm D x 420mm W): from $3.00
  • Medium locker (520mm H x 900mm D x 420mm W): from $6.00
  • Large locker (864mm H x 900mm D x 420mm W): from $8.00

For passengers reporting prior to check-in opening for their flight, short-term storage of baggage is a convenient way to enable users to pass through security screening and make use of the major retail facilities until check-in for their flight opens.

Baggage Trolleys

Available at the terminal and car parks to help lighten your load. Located just outside the entrance and exits at both the arrival and departure ends of the terminal and inside the long term car parks. A 5.00 fee per trolley hire applies, with a $1 deposit refunded upon return of the trolley.

Bike Port

Undercover bicycle facilities are located in a centrally within the short term car park, immediately opposite the terminal forecourt and approximately 65m from the terminal entrance/exit doors.

Included in the facility are:

Bicycle Service Stations - Two units are provided, with accompanying cycle mounts and tools (including air pumps), which allow for the assembly, disassembly and minor maintenance of bicycles.

Free Bicycle Parking Facilities – CCTV monitored bicycle racks are provided for parking of up to 12 bikes.

Bike boxes – Available for purchase through each airline. Jetstar do not have boxes but are able to direct their passengers to Qantaslink or Virgin for purchase. Passengers to contact check-in staff for purchase/storage inquiries.

Access Facilitation Plan

The well being of passengers and visitors with disabilities to Launceston Airport is of the highest priority. We seek to ensure that the terminal facility will provide a friendly environment for all users, including those with disabilities. Disabled Parking

Parking bays designated for disability permit holders are available in all of our 4 car parks.

Lifts

Departing Passengers (to gate lounges);

After passing through the screening point, the passenger lift is locate behind the departure stairs and will take you to the departure gate lounges.

Arriving Passengers; Upon arrival into the terminal, after passing Biosecurity check point, the arriving passenger lift is located behind the arrivals stairs.

Lost Property

Our lost property team handle items lost in the terminal as well as in car parks. For enquiries regarding lost property you can lodge an enquiry here or contact Airport Management on (03) 6391 6222.

For any baggage enquiries (mishandled, lost baggage or baggage left on a carousel) please contact your airline.

Medical

Passengers with medical conditions are advised to contact their airline in relation to the carriage of medical equipment through screening points and on board their flight.

Meeting Point

Launceston Airport has a designated “Meeting Point”. This is located at the arrivals end of the terminal and indicated by the large red signage near the exit doorway.

Parents Room

The terminals has 2 dedicated parenting rooms available both before (at arrivals end of terminal) and after security in the gate lounges. Each change room is equipped with baby change facilities, a feeding chair and nappy disposal bins.

Travel Advice & Biosecurity

Tasmania´s Biosecurity requirements are in place to protect the State´s plants, crops, and animal industries from introduced pests, weeds and diseases.

There are restrictions on the carrying of fruit, vegetables, flowers, plants and plant products, fish and fish products, fishing equipment, and anything containing soil into Tasmania.

Restrictions also apply to the importation of animals and animal material, wildlife, birds, dogs and other pets.

Shower

A coin operated shower is located adjacent to check in. The shower accepts $1 coins, which provides 3 minutes hot water

Smoking Area

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside and in front of the Launceston Airport terminal. To accommodate smokers, we have a dedicated smoking area at the southern end of the terminal. You can locate this on the terminal map.

Telephones

Telephones are conveniently located throughout the terminals and can be operated using coins or a telephone card. Phone cards are sold at the Launceston Store inside the Terminal.

Toilets

Toilet facilities for persons, including those using mobility aids, are provided on both public levels of Launceston Airport. There are two accessible toilets located at either end of the retail shopping area on the main public terminal level and a single toilet facility centrally located in the gate lounges in the lower level.

When booking your taxi, please ensure you inform the operator of all requirements.

As part of the Launceston Airporter shuttle bud fleet, a wheel chair accessibility bus is available (rear lift rather than ramp). Bookings are required for this with 48 hours notice and are accepted subject to confirmation of booking.

The driver is able to assist with loading wheelchairs and luggage.

Wheelchairs

Wheelchairs are provided by airlines and available within the terminal building for passenger use to assist in transiting the terminal building or within the terminal and can be obtained by approaching the appropriate airline staff.

WI-FI

Launceston Airport has free Wi-Fi access throughout the terminal and is available in all public areas and gate lounges.

Simply connect to the “Airport Free Wi-Fi” network and answer a few short survey questions to commence your session. Please refer to our terms and conditions for Wi-Fi usage.

It is important to note that the free Wi-Fi service is not encrypted, so please consider the security of your personal information and other data when using the free service.
