Many of you would have seen the recent changes to the terminal including the opening of the new exit race and redirection of pedestrian traffic through the one-way tunnels. Our contractors have removed the glazing from the gate lounges downstairs near the arrivals lift which in time will facilitate un-impeded access from the departure stairs to the arrivals stairs, opening up the apron level area.
Over the next week, you will notice large window panes installed in the southern wall and the new screening point re-opened- whereby passengers will enter into the screening point from adjacent to the checkin hall. The relocated passenger screening point will be operating from Thursday morning this week.
The above work is in preparation for the major sterile area change which will occur later this month- forecast for the 20th of September. In the meantime, the temporary construction hoarding will remain in place to direct departing passengers to the top of the departure stairs and gate lounges beyond.
