Notification of Traffic Flow Changes – North of Breadalbane Roundabout
VEC/Shaw Joint Venture is currently completing a 5.8km dual lane duplication of the Midlands Highway between Perth and Breadalbane, with works progressing well.
- Please allow sufficient time taking account of prevailing traffic conditions
- Single lane both directions
- 900m section only
- 80k speed restriction will apply
The section of work north of the Breadalbane Roundabout is nearing a stage where the transition works onto the existing highway needs to commence. To complete this work and allow traffic to safely pass through the site, the highway will be reduced to a single lane in each direction for a section of 900 metres from the 3rd April 2017 as per the attached diagram. The single lanes will be on the existing southbound section of the highway. The traffic flow in this area will remain in this configuration until mid November 2017 when northbound traffic will be diverted onto the new highway.
The existing northbound lane will be totally blocked with a new embankment constructed over the section of highway.
A speed restriction of '80'km/hr will be in place for this section of road due to the significant change in traffic conditions and to ensure public safety. Additional speed restrictions may be in place during work hours.
