About the Airport

Community Aviation Consultative Group (CACG)

The independently chaired Launceston Airport Community Aviation Consultative Group (CACG) builds on existing community consultation processes, and reaffirms the importance of community consultation to Launceston Airport, providing a regular two-way communication forum for the airport community and our neighbours. The CACG's role is to provide an independent forum where opinions, issues, impacts and information regarding the airport can be expressed and exchanged between committee members. It also assists Launceston Airport in identifying current and emerging community trends and opinions, with a genuine desire between all interested parties to resolve issues that may emerge. The CACG will assist in ensuring debate on such matters is well-informed and undertaken in a spirit of collaboration.

The CACG is neither an arbitration nor a decision-making body and discussion at CACG meetings will not be allowed to be dominated by a single topic or an individual member. The CACG membership consists of a wide range of community stakeholders with an interest in the Airport and meets twice a year under the chairmanship of James McKee (Director - Northern Cities Major Development Initiative - ‎Office of the Coordinator-General).
